Hopulent IPA from Epic Brewing Company of Salt Lake City, Utah is a double IPA with 8.9% ABV. This beer is part of Epic’s Elevated Series.

Hopulent pours with into the glass hazy with a bright, glowing orange color and a frothy white head, which has good retention and lacing. The aroma is dominated by hops with notes of herbs, citrus, grapefruit, fir, flowers, peaches, and wet earth. The flavor of Hopulent is slightly sweet accompanied by a smooth but spicy bitterness. The sweet flavor is not cloying and enhances the grainy, malty flavors. Overall, this is a well made Double IPA that has the classic flavors that you expect from a double IPA. Although this is not the sweetest double IPA I’ve ever tasted, it has a good amount of sweetness to balance the hop intensity. It is well worth seeking out if you’re in the vicinity of Utah.
