On Wednesday, February 5, 2014 Anchor Brewing kicked off SF Beer Week with the release of their new beer: Anchor IPA.

The event was packed with beer enthusiasts and Anchor provided beer, including the new IPA, food and an enjoyable atmosphere. To celebrate the new IPA, which pictures an elephant on the label, the theme of the evening was “Seeing the Elephant.” This is a term that was used during the gold rush to mean “a hopeful but risky pursuit of happiness.”

The new Anchor IPA, which will be available year round is a malt forward IPA with a plethora of hops both new and classic varieties.

To go with the old-timey theme of the evening, I took photos using Hipstamatic with a grainy black and white setup.
